Shameless Plug For My New Radio Show!

You know what's coming up? I'll tell you - the three-year anniversary of ROCK AND ROLL RADIO, that's what's coming up! We've got two special shows lined up for this momentous event, but those are for the next two weeks.

THIS week is another show filled with the best rock and roll we can find! Brand new stuff from Silveroller, Bonafide, Torpedohead and more. Classics from Lynyrd Skynyrd, Hans Condor, The Velvet Underground, The Cars and more. More everything, I always say!

Next week will be a special episode dedicated entirely to the Ladies That Rock, in part because Third Anniversary and in part because we're going to hit 300 Ladies That Rock songs next week. This week? We're at 296 now, what with new songs from The Sixsters, Roxx Revolt and the Velvets, Ultra Mega Cat Attack and NOBRO in the set. By the way - can the ladies come up with interesting band names or what?!?

The fun starts at 4 PM CDT at www.highvolumemusicradio.com, if listening live is your bag. Or, download the awesome High Volume Music Radio app and listen any time, all the time!

Today is a special day on ROCK AND ROLL RADIO. So, ask yourself - what makes a day a SPECIAL day?

Why, a day dedicated to nothing but the Ladies That Rock! And that's what we have on ROCK AND ROLL RADIO today!

Twenty-eight songs from the Ladies. Shucks, it's really 30 if you count Orianthi's bumper music and the Rock and Roll Intro - and we SHOULD count those!

Those songs are joined by The Amorettes, Joan Jett, Girlschool, Stacie Collins, Beaux Gris Gris and the Apocolypse, VA ROCKS and, OF COURSE...NOBRO! Hey, you have to live your truth and shred some gnar! :)

Oh yeah - on today's show we reach a catalog of 300 - I said THREE HUNDRED - Ladies That Rock songs. You aren't going to find a catalog like that ANYWHERE, mainly because you won't hear a lot of these fantastic songs ANYWHERE ELSE!

So buckle up! Turn your speakers up to 11! Close the doors, open the windows and let your neighbors enjoy this special edition of ROCK AND ROLL RADIO!

We drop live at 4 PM CDT today and you can jam with us at www.highvolumemusicradio.com or you can jam with us any time, all the time, on the High Volume Music Radio App.

Long live the Ladies That Rock!

Alright, y'all - this is a two-fer! And not the guy from "30 Rock!"

1698761186435.png

I loved "30 Rock"! In fact, I recorded every episode and watch one from time to time at bedtime. But as great as "30 Rock" was, the only rock we're talking about right now is ROCK AND ROLL RADIO!

Due to me being ensconced in the beauty that is Oxford, MS last week, I failed to announce what we did. But since we have an on-demand app, as far as you know everything I'm telling you is brand new!

And what I'm telling you is this - last week's episode and this week's episode are three-year anniversary episodes and are dedicated to songs that I love but had I not done this show, almost certainly would have never heard. Pretty cool!

I originally thought that concept would be one show but there are just too many gems from the last three years. Shucks, I could probably do a third show, but I won't - I've discovered way too much new rock and roll while doing these anniversary shows. So -

Between last week and this week, here's what we're laying on you: Telephone, Bad Touch, Goodbye June, The Middlenight Men, Dirty Honey, Rhino Bucket, Bonafide, The Struts, Quart of Blood Technique, Metal Marty, Ginger Wildheart, Classless Act, The Midnight Devils and Terry Anderson and the Olympic Ass-Kicking Team. Plus a WHOLE lot more!

Even though we did an entire Ladies That Rock show two weeks ago, we've still got a lot of ladies left in the tank. You'll hear Roxx Revolt and the Velvets, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, NOBRO, Lee Aaron and The Pandoras, Plus, of course, even more!

That's a lot of rock and roll but this is a ROCK AND ROLL RADIO two-fer! Navigate over to www.highvolumemusicradio.com or download the High Volume Music Radio app where ever you grab your apps, and let's celebrate three great years of rock and roll - together!

Today on ROCK AND ROLL RADIO it's "Songs I Never Would Have Heard If Not For This Show" - Part 2! (Henceforth to be abbreviated as SINWHHINFTS") What's coming at you on the second - and last - part of SINWHHINFTS?

Like I said - songs that I only heard because I looked for stuff to play on this show. In other words, HAPPINESS! Which this week is provided by Daxx & Roxanne, Bonafide, The Fratellis, Ginger Wildheart, Metal Marty, Ryan Hamilton, and of course Terry Anderson and the Olympic Ass Kicking Team.

But it doesn't stop with the Ass Kicking! The Ass Kicking continues with the Ladies That Rock, as it does EVERY week. Get ready to rock with The Dollyrots, Garbage, Joan Jett, Roxx Revolt and NOBRO. By the way, we've sailed way past 300 songs in our Ladies That Rock catalog. I dare you to find a better catalog than ours!

We're live today at 4 PM CDT at www.highvolumemusicradio.com but surely you've already downloaded the High Volume Music Radio app, haven't you? It's the best way to listen any time, all the time!

Happy three-year anniversary to ROCK AND ROLL RADIO! Enjoy SINWHHINFTS!

Hey all - we're taking the week off at ROCK AND ROLL RADIO but will be back next week with about 28 brand new songs!

Well, we really went and did it this time! What did we do?

Exactly what we said we'd do in the post right above - we built an episode of ROCK AND ROLL RADIO that is comprised entirely of never-before played rock and roll masterpieces! That's right - 28 songs brand-new to the show and in most cases, brand-new to the world!

I can't tell you how much fun it was finding song after song after song. We really ARE in the Second Golden Age of Classic Rock. And it wasn't just songs we found - I'm beyond excited over some of the ARTISTS we discovered putting this show together. I am here to tell you - rock and roll's future is in GREAT hands!

Making up this massive collection of masterpieces are songs from Troy Redfern, CJ Wildheart, Dirty Honey, Alice Cooper, Torpedohead and Low Cut Connie. Plus The Bites, Roxxi Red, The Struts, and the hottest young guitarist I've heard in AGES, Andy Alexander from right up the road in San Marco, TX. You just have to hear this!

People thought, hey Greg - you've already got a catalog of more than 300 Ladies That Rock songs (the largest in the world, I'd bet!). How many more can there be that you haven't played? At least five more! New stuff from NOBRO, The Pinpricks, The Interrupters, The Dollyrots and Legs Electric. Trust me, despite what you don't hear on other outlets, there is NO shortage of Ladies That Rock!

A typical ROCK AND ROLL RADIO show has 7 - 10 new songs, and that's a lot to find. This show has 28 but what you don't know is that to find those 28, I sorted through 200+ offerings. So don't worry about the quality being diluted - it isn't!

Today's episode drops at 4 PM CST on www.highvolumemusicradio.com or listen any time, all the time with the High Volume Music Radio app. You'll be glad you did!

Enjoying the show.

Just like pretty much everyone else in the USA - except for our friends in retail and food service - I'm taking the day after Thanksgiving off. And after showering y'all with 27 new songs last week, I think I deserve it! (This has nothing to do with the amount of turkey, dressing, yams and pies I ate yesterday.)

We'll be back live next Friday and while I haven't programmed a show for today, rest assured that I already have about enough brand-new rockers to give you ANOTHER show full of new stuff. But I won't - there's just too much great rock in our catalog to ignore all of it!

So, see you next Friday!

Hey, welcome back! Or rather, WE are BACK! That's right, ROCK AND ROLL RADIO drops today at 4 PM on the High Volume Music Radio app, and what a drop it is!

I never get tired of saying that we're living in the Second Golden Age of Classic Rock - because it is true. And just like every week for about the past three years, we prove it to you!

First, I need to share some news. Scott Kempner, the front man, guitarist and songwriter of The Del-Lords, passed three days ago. We'll have a tribute to Scott next week but if you're an eagle-eared listener and go all the way to the very end of the show, you know that as the voices on "Rock Your Ass" fade out, I've always got a message. I try to make it sound like Eddie Spaghetti and I are talking, or at least that I'm in the room.

I found out about Scott as I was recording this episode, so there's a little something about him at the end. I hope you get to hear it.

Before all that though, we've got 13 brand-new songs for this week's show. And I mean BRAND-NEW. Twelve of them dropped this week! And they are BLASTERS!

You'll hear fresh rock The Dreadful Tides, Ace Monroe, Electric Boys, Poison Boys, Philip Sayce, the Southern River Band and (what used to be) The L. A. Maybes. Add to that strong stuff from Led Zeppelin, Motorhead, Extreme, Bruce Springsteen and The Midnight Devils, and you've got the makings of a fantastic show!

But it only gets better with The Ladies That Rock. This week, the LTR are SIX songs strong! Five of them dropped just this week, too. Six LTR bands from five different countries proves once again that no one internationals like ROCK AND ROLL RADIO!

We're going to finish 2023 STRONG. This week is just the beginning but what a beginning it is! See you there!

The year is winding down but the rock and roll is heating up! Episode 140 of ROCK AND ROLL RADIO brings the heat with some brand-new, awesome rock (have I told you today that we're living in the Second Golden Age Of Classic Rock?), as well as the stuff you know and love.

What's that new stuff? Oh, just blasters from The Rolling Stones, Rock City Machine Co., Roxxi Red (the band, not the...ummmm...model?) and San Marcos, Texas's own Andy Alexander. And not one but TWO Christmas rockers - a brand-new instant classic from Buckcherry, and the coolest song/story you'll ever hear, by way of the UK's BlitZ. You just might need a hanky for that one, but in a good way!

However, the highlight of today's show is a tribute we put together for the one and only Scott Kempner. He passed last week and a bigger influence on today's rock and roll would be hard to find. Scott was in the seminal punk band The Dictators, then formed The Del-Lords. Your favorite rock band's favorite rock band was probably The Del-Lords. But you knew that!

No episode of ROCK AND ROLL RADIO is complete without the Ladies That Rock, is it? No, it is not! We're treated to amazing rock from The Mother Truckers, The Donnas, and brand-spanking-new songs from The Hot Damn, Bourbon House and Thundermother (what, no NOBRO?!? Ha, just wait!).

Episode 140 drops live at 4 PM CST today. Listen then, or any time over next week, on the High Volume Music Radio app. You'll be glad you did!

ROCK AND ROLL RADIO is taking today off but we already have an EPIC show ready to end 2023. See you next Friday!

Do you need a New Year's Eve playlist? You do?!? Well, you've come to the right place!

Today's ROCK AND ROLL RADIO was carefully built (NOT "curated", LOL) to end 2023 with a bang, and kick off 2024 as it was meant to be - rocking!

There's no let-down in the rock today - not that there ever is - so put on your best dancing shoes, get your ass up off your seat, and kiss that sticky-ass-itis goodbye, because here's what we're bringing today:

Brand new stuff from our new best friends from Australia, The Southern River Band, plus The Bites, Blitz (after last week's Christmas story, you KNEW Blitz would be in this!), Kurt Baker, Justin Cody Fox and a cover by Gun Called Britney that you will NOT expect! Joining them are the best songs from Bad Company, Bad Touch, Bonafide and bands who DON'T start with a "B", like AC/DC, The Lazys, The Angels and The Midnight Devils. Angels AND Devils?!?

I know what you're thinking. "RodeoSchro, surely you've got some NOBRO in the Ladies That Rock for your last show of the year!" Have I ever disappointed you? Of course not! Joining NOBRO are The Amorettes, The Cynz and The Sweetheart of ROCK AND ROLL RADIO, Lee Aaron. But that's not all.

Let me say this - I am NOT responsible for ANYTHING that happens after you hear the first song on the Ladies That Rock set. You've been warned! And I am off the hook!

Today's show is EXACTLY 2 hours and 1 minute long. So listen live today at 4 PM CST on the High Volume Music Radio app, then load the show this Sunday night, hit "Play" at 9:59 PM, and ring out/ring in the respective years with the best rock and roll on the planet!

Hey y'all - Episode 142 of ROCK AND ROLL RADIO broadcasts live at 4 PM CST. I'm super excited to have found the New Wave of Classic Rock group - it's 26,000 strong! So you KNOW we're bringing the rock today. We have to - when you're living in the Second Golden Age of Classic Rock, that's an obligation!

Today's show features Warner Hodges, Goodbye June, Sideburn, Andy Alexander, The Middlenight Men, The Del-Lords, Ryan Hamilton and Prince - and that's just the start!

Our Ladies That Rock set blasts out Grace Potter, NOBRO, Betty Blowtorch and a song I SWEAR wasn't written just for us - or was it?!? (It wasn't 🙂 )

You know how it goes - listen any time, all the time on the High Volume Music Radio app or be old-fashioned and go to www.highvolumemusicradio.com. See you there!

Today on ROCK AND ROLL RADIO, well - all I can say is it's great to be...nah. It's just GREAT!

When we say it's raining rock and roll on us, we mean it! Today's show features brand-new stuff by The Karma Effect, The Zutons, Sonny Jim, Tuk Smith and the Restless Hearts and The Middlenight Men. Couple that with favorites from ZZ Top, Stray Dog, Ugly Kid Joe and The Dirty Knobs, and you've got the start of something AWESOME!

Of course, the Ladies That Rock are always awesome! Today we've got Bywater Call, Sheer Mag, New Rock City, The Guize and since it's Mardi Gras season, you KNOW we'd bring some Beaux Gris Gris & The Apocalypse to the party - and we will!

The awesomeness drops today live at 4 PM CST on High Volume Music Radio - download the app or listen on the web. It's your choice and either one is a winner!

Sounds good. might give it a go actually. I'm elsewhere so it should be 10 pm for me.

Awesome! If you miss it live, you can listen any time through next Friday, 2/9/2024, in one of two ways:

1. Download the High Volume Music Radio app (available at any app store). Tap the menu bar, choose "Podcasts" down at the bottom, and then scroll until you see my lily-white face staring at ya.

2. Go to www.highvolumemusicradio.com, scroll down and tap the "HVMR IS LIVE!" box. Then click "Podcasts" in the upper right-hand corner and look for me!

For some reason, this week's show starts 2:35 seconds into the stream so either advance to there, or dig some cool soul for a couple minutes before the rock party starts. I hope you like it!

Today on ROCK AND ROLL RADIO - it's a garden party! At least, it is for me as we're attending a function of the Rodeo committee that Mrs. RodeoSchro founded. But would you think I'd leave your rock and roll fix unattended?

Of course not!

We're going to play Episode #138 which I am positive you remember is the episode that features 27 brand-new songs! Great stuff that will absolutely reinforce the fact that we are indeed living in the Second Golden Age of Classic Rock!

We'll be jamming to songs from the likes of Troy Redfern, Dirty Honey, Andy Alexander, The Struts, The Bites, Roxxie Red and Crossbone Skully.

Not to be outdone, the Ladies That Rock bring it with groovy new tunes from Legs Electric, The Pinpricks and our favorite new band of 2023 - NOBRO!

The fun drops at 4 PM CST and as always, the best way to listen any time, all the time is on the High Volume Music Radio app. Let's rock!

Yesterday was an AMAZING day, so what better to reward you and me than an AMAZING episode of ROCK AND ROLL RADIO? Let's do it!

We've got brand new stuff from Dirty Honey, Kit Trigg, Stereo Rex, Quiver, Royal Republic and The Middlenight Men. Maybe you haven't heard of some of these bands but you know if ROCK AND ROLL RADIO plays them, they are definitely a part of the Second Golden Age of Classic Rock! We'd never steer you away from that!

But wait, there's more! We have a post-Valentines Day song from Soul Twin Messiah and if you think YOU have a thing for love, just wait until you hear the story of these guys! The Summer of Love has nothing on Soul Twin Messiah!

But wait, there's even MORE! Every so often a band releases a song that is an absolute pub smasher. A song that you're going to want to hear every single time you're lifting a glass. Well - we have that song! It's from The Smashed Avocados and all I'll say is that if you drink adult beverages (especially gin), I'd have a glass on the ready for when this song plays. I'll give you a heads-up, promise!

But wait, THERE'S EVEN MORE. We lost a great man, an incredible performer, and...well, a true legend last week. Of course I'm talking about the one and only Mojo Nixon. Today we're kicking off the show with a song Mojo did with The Del-Lords. And it's a song sung by another legend we recently lost, Scott Kempner. Thank you Eric Ambel for playing this one on your page and reminding us of what it sounds like when true artists can do together.

Today's show is so brilliant that I haven't even got to the Ladies That Rock set yet but I promise you - it's going to melt your ears. And I'm saying that before I've even picked any of the songs! But have The Ladies That Rock ever NOT melted your ears?!?

We go live at 4 PM CDT at www.highvolumemusicradio.com but of course, all the cool kids download the High Volume Music Radio app to listen any time, all the time. What a great couple of days!

It's Friday and that means another smoking hot ROCK AND ROLL RADIO! What's on the burner for today?

The Heavy, Love Stallion, Bad Touch (these guys NEVER fail to impress!), Electric Black (touring with Bad Touch so you know THEY will deliver too!), Starmen and Buffalo Summer.

What's that, you say? You aren't familiar with those bands? Hey - we're 147 episodes into this journey. We know what you want, where to find it, and how to play it. That's what we do! And you KNOW we do it right!

So do the Ladies That Rock which, I am proud to say, is a feature you'll only find on ROCK AND ROLL RADIO. This week we've got new stuff from Bourbon House and Jax Hollow, to go with Roxx Revolt and the Velvets plus a couple surprises.

We drop live today at 4 PM on www.highvolumemusicradio.com or of course, listen any time all the time on the High Volume Music Radio app. What better way to kick off the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo than with some great rock and roll?
