That sounds really fun and dreamy worthwhile. I’d like to check it out!

Here, there are 2 huge Technics speakers (not sure what vintage - they’re about 3 and a half feet tall!) In the very next space (it’s kind of a shotgun-style arrangement) there are 2 small JBL speakers hung up near the ceiling. They’re both just stereo sound. It works pretty nicely, although a techie-type might have something else to say.

Anyway, ATMOS sounds great, I’m sure.

If you want Surround Sound- you need:
- a receiver that can deliver it. If it’s says it’s a A/V or multi channel receiver, as opposed to a stereo receiver, than you’re good to go

- a blu-ray reader. Even a cheap one is fine

- and as many speakers as you can hook up. Most people have 5.1 systems- two front speakers, two surround speakers, a center speaker, and a subwoofer for extra BASS.

This type of system is mainly for movies, but there are more music only discs coming out in surround- I just got an Elton John greatest hits set with 50 songs on it- sounds great!
