Private Equity

I'm starting a new thread for this phenom: private equity.

I don't know much about it, but I know it's important, so I've posted a couple of times (e.g. see post#220 in Political Hodgepodge)! These companies pose as positives, temporarily buying companies and making them ship-shape, with a veneer of panache and progressiveness. From what I've read, they rob whatever they touch and leave an empty shell.

For this one, I saw the headline. Stopped cold and clicked. Two paragraphs down, there's Primary Wave, just as I suspected.

Same Old Song: Private Equity Is Destroying Our Music Ecosystem [NYTimesOpinion_Guest Essay;3.18.24]

As you know, Primary Wave owns a smidge less than half of the Prince Estate - sorry, Tyka and Alfred Jackson(rip) - poor move there, likely. Of course, what happened with Jackson seems to have been a scheme enacted on his deathbed. Bloodsuckers gathered. Sign here!

Death of Prince heir complicates estate settlement even more [The Wealth Advisor;2.25.20]

Primary Wave Scores Significant Stake in Prince's Estate [Rolling Stone;7.30.21]

Pardon, if I'm going over-the-top, off-the-deep-end, only half baked, having a cow, chicken-little-squawking the-sky-is-falling,. . .

Prince's Family Splits Just $6 MILLION in Cash Following Estate War [Blast via Yahoo;8.1.22]

I guess I should move this up into the music area. Maybe later. I had originally reacted to seeing the phrase 'private equity'. Then, I went off on a Prince tangent.

I have been involved with vc\private equity in a business sale before and it was horrible. They are interested in one thing only and it is money.

In fact i am involved with a company now that may need investment and i have categorically told the other partners that if its vc\private equity money then i am out.
