The song sequence of Sign 'o The Times on vinyl

Listening to SOTT on vinyl, it occurred to me that each side tells its own story and the songs sound like they were matched with each other according to which side. For example, the first four songs alone sound nothing like each other and (without undercutting my argument) that's why it works on Side One. To me, each side sounds like they could be a mini-LP or an EP on their own. Whereas the cassette and cd versions just run their course. TBH, no one song sounds like the other on this record anyway.
I've had SOTT on cassette and cd (still do) and only just listening to the vinyl does it feel like maybe Prince did that on purpose and MAYBE it was one of the many reasons he wanted to release Dream Factory and then Crystal Ball.

Anyway, it's just an observation. Anyone have any thoughts?

Interesting observation. I think you're onto something! P sequenced that album so brilliantly.
