US elections ~ 2024

Why not just own it? Your vote, your voice.

Once, I was really pissed off about something. I was alone, just chewing on my bitterness. I took out my emotion on a really large photography developing tray. I hadn’t planned to. It was a rash impulse. The tray cracked and really can’t hold liquid any more.

Do I say, so-and-so, look at this broken developer’s tray! This is your fault! Look what you made me do! Do I blame so-and-so??? It never even occurred to me. I broke it and I’ve been sorry ever since. I hurt something that had value and usefulness.

But, as Gramps used to say, sorry is too late.

Let's forget all the lecturing and finger-pointing and VOTE ON POLICY. There is nothing in Project 2025 that elevates any minority group, much less black. We are not voting for Magic or Barrack or Joy... VOTE FOR THE CANDIDATE WHOSE POLICIES BEST BENEFIT THE MAJORITY OF THE PEOPLE! And that, my friends, is Kamala Harris.

Telling black voters (particularly black men) to forget all the lecturing and finger-pointing won't work this time. The scapegoating and disrespect has been going on for too long and some are are saying "enough". They're either voting third party, Trump or the couch. Harris has @78% support among black voters. If she can't increase that at least ten more points, she's done and party leadership knows it. That's why she's come out with this "plan" to empower black men....twenty days before the election, lol.

Like this article says, everyone's telling black men what to do, but no one's listening;

In 2016, many British people thought the government weren't hearing them, weren't representive of them, weren't saying what they wanted to hear, and the people basically wanted to stick two fingers up at them. Trust me, it was the worst mistake we ever made. Forget the rhetoric, vote for who you want to represent your country and the policies they are offering.

Just to add, from overseas, and this is just my opinion, it seems incredible that anyone would choose a criminal, narcassistic, misogynist, hate-filled wannabe dictator over, well just about anyone, but the whole point of a vote is that people get to choose and if that's what the American people choose then I have to respect that. Sadly, a vote for Trump is a vote for Putin which will be a disaster for Europe, but that's not your problem. It is, for now, a democracy after all.

I like this video clip. It covers a lot of ground, including VP Harris’ interview on Fox News.

Kamala BRINGS THE FIGHT to Trump on his OWN TURF [home front headlines:10.18.24, MTN]

The blurb: In this episode of Homefront Headlines, Dr. Amanda Weinstein and her husband, Ohio State Representative Casey Weinstein, discuss the biggest headlines of the week including Kamala Harris’ interview with Bret Baier on Fox News and Donald Trump’s odd behavior on the campaign trail in the final days of this election.

Here's one that's kind of long. The discussion looks at what a second t---- administration would look like and how it would affect people here and around the world. It touches on some of the agenda in Project 2025. Basically, it's about why t---- is dangerous, at the same time as being weak sauce and a buffoon. Here's one of the comments on the video: "The admiration of dictators, the threats of sending the military after the people that disagree with him are terrifying and absolutely need to be taken seriously!"

LIVE: Top Lawyer on KEY FACTOR that Could END Trump | The Weekend Show [MTN Network; 10.20.24]

Here's the blurb: "Partners For Justice co-founder Emily Galvin-Almanza joins Anthony Davis to explain why Latinos are choosing Trump despite his racism, what the loss of democracy might look like and why women will have the deciding vote in making Kamala Harris president - only on The Weekend Show. "

Oh I will - it just won't be for the orange racist turd or the kosplaying khameleon.

Numbers for Democrats have been trending down with black voters since 2012, even among black women. 77% won't get it done and it's the party's own fault. They saw what was happening, but sat on their asses, thinking they had the black vote in their pocket. Not addressing the frustrations many have with the party over the years has come back to bite them. Dems latest desperation move is bringing out Diddy's pal Usher to rally black voters. You can't make this stuff up, lol.

This article talks of middle America, or the forgotten small town malaise. While Biden instituted policies to improve the plight of these communities and while these policies are having an effect, there is a lag period and a perception in these places that is slow to change.

Democrats Finally Did What Sherrod Brown Asked For. It Might Be Too Late. [NYTimes;10.26.24]

From the article, the definition used for "forgotten cities", and two examples:

"In 2007, the academic Lorlene Hoyt and the city planning consultant André Leroux assembled a nationwide list of “forgotten cities” that were old and small, with a population of 15,000 to 150,000 and a median household income of less than $35,000. Recently, the urban researcher Michael Bloomberg updated it. Of the 179 cities now on the list, 37 are in Pennsylvania, Michigan and Wisconsin. And leading the way, with 23 cities, is Ohio.

"Pundits often overlook these sorts of places (they tend to focus on big blue cities, deep-red rural areas and the suburbs in between), but given how clustered these smaller cities are in Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin, they will matter greatly in the battle for both the White House and for control of Congress. Lately, two of Ohio’s have gained special prominence: Middletown (population 50,000) as the hometown of JD Vance, and Springfield (roughly 60,000) as home to a large community of Haitian immigrants that both Mr. Vance and Donald Trump have made a target of their rhetoric."

This article interested me for its explanation of the phenomenon of an all-but-shouting-from-the-rooftops fascist wannabe (not to mention conman, liar, criminal, malignant narcissist, fraudster, anti-American, dementia-afflicted) seemingly having a chance of winning in 2024, even after dire warnings from multiple sources, including those of generals and other professionals who worked alongside him in his first, and hopefully only, term.

IMO - it makes absolutely no sense to vote in a way that will definitely harm you and your community rather than help you.

The important thing right now is to crush the fascistic MAGA agenda. Once that is done once and for all, then we can address all the other issues and problems we have here. It’s like triage in the emergency room- the dying must be treated first
