Shameless Plug For My New Radio Show!

How long will it be up for? I mean, when is the last day/hour? I want to make sure to listen and it’s already Thursday tomorrow. Is it up till your live show on Friday evening?

It'll be up until about 6 PM United States CDT time today (Friday, April 25th), which is midnight London time.

Today is ROCK AND ROLL RADIO Friday, and let's have a little refresher, shall we?

There are a couple ways you can listen to our show FOR FREE - either through the High Volume Music Radio app or on the website. Neither is as straight-forward as I'd like so here are the ways to get to where you want to be:

APP
High Volume Music Radio app -> tap the three bars on the upper-left side of the screen -> Scroll down to the bottom link, which is "Podcasts" and tap it -> Look for my incredibly handsome face and punch it...errr, tap it for the rock

WEBSITE
www.highvolumemusicradio.com -> Click "LISTEN" on the upper-right-hand part of the screen (a new window will open) -> Click "Podcasts" on the upper-right-hand of the screen -> Again, look for Brad Pitt's identical twin and you're there!

Now - what will you hear when you take the actions above? Look down one post!

Today on ROCK AND ROLL RADIO, it's a smorgasbord of new classic rock!

This ALWAYS happens when there's a two- or three-week gap between episodes, which we had with Easter and Spring Break. And you know why - we're living in the Second Golden Age of Classic Rock and it is RAINING rock and roll on us!

Today's rain showers come from The Midnight Calls, The Midnight Devils. The Southern River Band, Deraps, Andy Alexander, Dirty Honey, Steve Creep and the Wildcards and Rattlesnake Suitcase, who are so cool!

That's just the tip of the iceberg and as usual, the body of that berg is the Ladies That Rock. Today, as we celebrate hitting 450 LTR songs in our catalog, we blast out new stuff from Miss Velvet, Legs Electric, The Dirty Denims, Samantha Fish and Lucie Sue!

The party gets hopping live today at 4 PM Central USA time. Let's rock!

It may be Monday as I type this but there's good news to start the week = there's a new episode of ROCK AND ROLL RADIO waiting for you!

Tune in, turn on, and rock out to new stuff from The Band Feel, Dirtbag Republic, Dustin Douglas & the Electric Gentlemen, Gyasi, Kaviani, The Midnight Calls, and a very special tribute to Eddie Van Halen from Sammy Hagar and friends. But that's just the half of it!

The biggest challenge we have at ROCK AND ROLL RADIO isn't finding new songs - it's been raining rock and roll on us for more than three years now - it's fitting in as many great songs as we can without going too long playing any one song. Meaning, we don't want any of this great rock to get lost in the deluge of new stuff. If I was lazy, every show would just be the new stuff we got this week paired with the new stuff from the last show. That would be a great show but we do the work for you!

So we ALWAYS examine our catalog and ask ourselves (well, really I just ask myself), "What do we need to add in to this show to make it the best two hours of our week?" This is where those skillz-with-a-z come in.

Bringing today's show to the epic level we expect are The Darkness, Spin Doctors, The Rolling Stones, Crossbone Skully, The Treatment, The Struts and three different bands with the word "Star" in their names. Plus much more!

Our station owner Ant Boogie is a giant Bonnie and Clyde history buff. So imagine his joy when we found a Ladies That Rock band named after them - Parker Barrow! But by ANY name, Parker Barrow is worthy of LTR status, and they're joined by Vixen 77, The Dirty Denims, Grace Potter and Thundermother. No bank robberies here, just fantastic rock and roll!

Fire up the High Volume Music Radio app and get your week off to the start you deserve!

Episode 190 of ROCK AND ROLL RADIO drops today and it's one you should listen to. Why, you ask? No, go ahead and ask me why.

OK, fine - I'll tell you. Because it's the last show we're doing for a little while that features the gamut of classic rock. Meaning, brand new songs, songs from twenty years ago, etc. And why, you ask, is that?

I'll tell you that, too - as we slide towards Episode 200 I thought it would be a good idea to program one show that we could use to convince anyone that we really are living in a Second Golden Age of Classic Rock. And we'd do that by playing only awesome songs that were released within the last two years. Guess what?

There have been so many great songs that we're going to have to do THREE shows featuring the new stuff!

So today's show is the last one for awhile where you'll hear great stuff from 5+ years ago by artists like Danko Jones, Aerosmith, 42 Decibel, Massive Wagons, Terrorvision, Bonafide and Tommy's RockTrip.

Therefore, get your groove on with this show while getting ready to get INUDATED with loud and proud proof that we are indeed living in the Second Golden Age of Classic Rock!

Fire up the High Volume Music Radio app and let's get it on!

We've all got friends that have said for years that rock is dead. I know - for a long time I was that friend. Happily though, I was wrong. And today we have ROCK AND ROLL RADIO!

But those friends of ours who still haven't seen the light and heard the rock need our help. So I set out to help them. I told myself, "Self, you should put together a show of great, NEW classic rock songs. A show so incredible that anyone who listens to it will be amazed and overjoyed to find out that rock and roll is just as good today as it was in the 70's!"

So that's what we did...kind of.

What we found that even by limiting ourselves to songs released in just the last five years, we had enough great material for not one, not two, but THREE straight episodes of ROCK AND ROLL RADIO!

The first episode just dropped, and it contains stuff from great bands like The New Roses, Quiver, Goodbye June, Red Voodoo, Ace Monroe, Dirty Honey and The Midnight Devils. Names that YOU know, and names that our friends should know, too!

They also should know that the ladies rock harder than the guys. How much harder? You'll have to listen to find out but when you do, you'll be glad you did! Nobody anywhere else has The Ladies That Rock - won't our currently-un-rocked friends be delighted when they hear what the ladies have been doing!

Therefore, our assignment is to let everyone who's ever told us, "Rock is dead! Grunge killed rock! There's no more good rock songs out there!" (all stuff I said over the years!) that we have great news - rock and roll is alive and it lives on ROCK AND ROLL RADIO!

All they have to do is download the High Volume Music Radio app and get going. Or they can even motor over to www.highvolumemusicradio.com and give us a test listen before festooning their phone with our avatar.

The best news? This is only show #1 of 3 in a row designed to permanently answer the "Is rock dead" question. It's not and it's gonna be like Christmas in the spring for our friends!

Just a reminder - the first Let's Get People Acquainted With The Second Golden Age of Classic Rock show is up through tomorrow afternoon (Friday, May 23). Then Show number 2 drops and it will replace Show 1 on the High Volume Music Radio app.

These are GREAT shows if I do say so myself. So if you've got anyone that is like I was - anyone remember me saying "Nirvana killed rock and roll!" about 1,000 times on that other site? - tune them into one or more of these shows.

Rock and Roll Is Alive And It Used To Live In Minneapolis But Now It Lives On ROCK AND ROLL RADIO!

Alright y'all the second Let's Get People Acquainted With The Second Golden Age of Classic Rock show is up - and it ROCKS.

Look - you know, I know, the people of the WORLD know I never "curate" anything. What I do is meticulously plan and place songs in a way that, well, GETS YOUR ASS UP OFF YOUR SEAT. This goes back to when I was known as DiscoSchro (I have been known as pretty much Everything_that_rhymes_with_schroSchro at one time or another). I don't mean to brag but I was one of the first in the country to mix songs. My stuff - my cassettes - were played on the streets of New York City, and this was in 1978. Had I known what DJs were going to end up making, I'd have never stopped!

Anyway, for these three shows, all I did was pick out 60 songs from the guys, listed alphabetically, and then go down the list labeling them 1-2-3, 1-2-3, 1-2-3. Then I did the same thing with 18 Ladies That Rock songs. The first show was all the songs with a "1" next to them; this show is the one with the "2"s. I bet you can guess what's coming next week!

And you know what? The classic rock is SO GOOD these days that you'd have thought I spent hours pulling the songs for each show (if you want to think that, it's OK with me).

This week's 2's include songs from Gun Called Britney, Pete's Diary, Sonny Jim, The Zac Schulze Gang, The New Roses, Anthony Gomes and Kit Trigg. Those of you who can do math know there's thirteen more songs from the guys. And from the Ladies That Rock?

Six songs - there are just too many great new Ladies That Rock songs to play only five of them each week! We've got NOBRO, Broken Hearts Club, The Guize, The Damn Truth, The Mothercrow and Ultra Mega Cat Attack (the best kind of attack there is).

Drop in via the High Volume Music Radio app and make sure to tell some friends about it - especially those friends who think there isn't any good rock and roll out there. We'll show 'em that there certainly is!

Good morning, rock and roll secret agents. Your mission - should you decide to accept it and you'd better! - is to listen to ROCK AND ROLL RADIO episode 193 AND point those you know who cry "Rock is dead!" to it, too. Because rock isn't dead - it's more alive than ever!

This is the third of three episodes designed specifically to prove that yep - we ARE living in the Second Golden Age of Classic Rock. On this mission, you'll hear the best of the best. Gun Called Britney, Pete's Diary, The Zac Schulze Gang, The New Roses, Anthony Gomes, Junkyard Drive and on and on and on and on - of course leaving room for The Ladies That Rock, because there has been more new and great classic rock put out by the Ladies than a normal segment can handle.

We'll hear from The Guize, NOBRO, The Damn Truth, The Mothercrow, Broken Hearts Club and the awesomely-named Ultra Mega Cat Attack.

You can access your mission from the High Volume Music Radio app or be old-fashioned and cruise over to www.highvolumemusicradio.com. Either way, this message will self-destruct this Friday at 4 PM, when episode 194 takes its place. So don't dilly-dally, get rockin'!

We've spent the better half of the past 30 days on ROCK AND ROLL RADIO affirming, re-affirming and just plain rocking out to the Second Golden Age of Rock and Roll! There can't be anyone who's heard any of the past three shows that can doubt that!

Now, it's onward and upward because as you can imagine, we've been rained upon with brand new classic rock. Just to be clear - when we say "classic", we don't mean when it was released, we mean how it SOUNDS.

But first things first - a little gremlin kiboshed our Mother's Day show - scheduled to drop about a month ago - so right now that is what you'll find over at High Volume Music Radio. But no gremlins can stop the rock! Episode #190 is absolutely a banger!

We've got old friends like Danko Jones, The Bites, The Steel Crows Official, Goodbye June, Massive Wagons, Bonafide, The Mercury Riots and Tyler Bryant & the Shakedown. We've got new friends like Rich Kid Express and Gun Called Britney.

And of course we have the Ladies That Rock. This week is absolute proof that the Rock and Roll Universe is inescapable! Back in 2013, my favorite daughter, your favorite snowboarder Sydney Schroder competed in the first-ever Rodeo Rockstar contest at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. She finished in second. The first-place winners were the sisters Flores, known then as StarFlight. But now?

They go by RōZY and they are rocking HARD! They're joined on the Ladies That Rock by Beth Blades and the Beautiful Disasters, The Guize, Queens of Sheba and The Ben Cote Band with a special guest vocalist. And they ALL rock!

Check out this episode - it's another in a long line of what has been the greatest rock and roll road trip this century. And we aren't about to pull over now!

It might be hot outside but it's raining cool new rock and roll on us inside!

Episode 194 of ROCK AND ROLL RADIO brings us 20-count 'em-20 new songs, and 11 artists new to the show - wow! In fact, this show could have been ALL new stuff but you know I had to dedicate a set to Jeff Fest 2, so we did!

A note about Jeff Fest 2 - it was INCREDIBLE. Warner Hodges did an unbelievable job and the artists who played shows how much he is loved and respected in the Nashville rock community (and the world, too). As is the beneficiary of the event, Jeff Johnson. This was for him! Rock and roll royalty like Dan Baird and Homemade Sin, Jonathan Bright, Joe Blanton, Stacie Harp-Chic Collins, Otis Gibbs and many others absolutely blew the roof off Eastside Bowl. A crowd of several hundred filtered through the joint throughout the day and night but your old buddy RodeoSchro was there from start to end.

If you listen to this episode from start to end, you'll hear some amazing rock and roll from not only the aforementioned legends, but also Luke Morley, Houston's own De'Wayne, Wasted Major, Buckcherry, Robbie Williams, The Rose City Rockers and a band unlike any other I've heard, The Inspector Cluzo. I'm betting you haven't heard anything like them either!

The Ladies That Rock do indeed rock, as usual! Ginger and the Peppers, The Dirty Denims, The Mothercrow and Leilani Kilgore round out the set and bring the FIRE.

Check it out on the High Volume Music Radio app. You'll be glad you did!
